This Space For Rent

No, that's just the title of this blog.

However, I have found a cubby in an old hotel in Elizabethtown where I will take my writing. I'm just too easily distracted here at the house.

Going to the library helped a great deal, last year. So I'm going to take it one step further. The goal to start working a 9 to 5 day, at a desk, in an office.

We'll see if this helps make me more productive. And if not, I'll be back in the groove to get a job.

You might find that 8 hours in the middle of the day doesn't really work for you, as in 8 non-stop hrs is a lot to take on at once plus you are more of a night owl than a day time worker, aren't you?

Since you "own" the space (for a monthly payment) you can go in there any time of day...or NIGHT :) Try out different schedules and find the one that fits your biorhythm. Just because other offices are open 9-5 doesn't mean it's for you.

That's the beauty of being self-employed. You get to set your own hours. That's the drawback of being self-employed. You gotta set your own hours.

Very true.

I used to get up early and write on my front porch. (4 years ago) while I was working 2nd shift.

What I hope to do is get the writing over with in the AM - take a break and either market or work on other people's books in the PM.

Right now, I have someone who wants help publishing his books. Even the small number of sales I have is greater than the sales he had with a trade publisher.

There are a couple of people in my writers group and the general community who want help. so I'll stay busy.

I'm thinking of myself as a 'book coach' not a publisher.

Also going to look into 'e-book gift cards' for myself and others.

UPDATE - This is going better than I thought! HOT DAMN! I'm getting a huge amount of work done.

Now if I can just translate it into sales!
